Hurried Goodbyes
Hi, friends!
I hope you are well. As you can see, I'm late again with the newsletter. At this point, I'm not even making any more promises. The world is so chaotic right now. I'm not even sure about what happens tomorrow. I'm just glad to be alive, honestly.
Last week, as you might expect, was a very hectic and chaotic one. For one, I just got back from the hospital and was recovering. On top of that, IIT Kanpur decided to send everyone home because the city's medical infrastructure was being over-stressed. I won't go on at length about whether the decision was right or wrong. That would be a subject of a future article.
We had a hurried wing photoshoot. For those of you who don't know, a wing is a floor in a hostel building. If you want to see the photos, you should head to my Instagram and make sure you follow me there, if you haven't already.
It was hard. I knew sooner or later, the day to leave IIT Kanpur would come, but when you're asked to leave all of a sudden, it just feels different and sad. We did not get to say proper goodbyes and did not get to do what we wanted to do. I guess that is just a reflection of the time we're in.
I came home last Friday and am glad that I did. I do not plan on leaving home anytime soon, not at least before I get fully vaccinated. I believe vaccines are our last hope of coming out of this pandemic and putting an end to the damn thing. So, please get the vaccine if you are eligible, and it is possible to get it.
Other than that, there is nothing much to share at this point. I hope you and your family are well. Stay safe, take care.
