Things are starting to work out
Hey friends,
If you have been following me over the past few months, you would know that I have had a small hiccup in my family relationship. However, I have since spent some time alone and came to realize that there are some things that I cannot control.
For the first time in my life, I feel liberated in a sense that I’ve never felt before. I do not wish for this feeling to go away anytime soon. I am so happy these days - my friends would tell you I’m overly excited for the future.
Whenever you feel low, I think it helps reflect on your upbringing, especially the happy moments. For me, that includes the time I spent with my parents, with kids in the village, playing cricket in paddy fields, and then looking back to how fortunate I’ve been to end up where I am today. I video-called my sister today, and it is amazing to see a kid grow up.
I guess what I mean to say is that I am pleased right now. My quarantine is ending tomorrow, and I’ll finally be free if all stays well. You could say, “Reang is a free man.”
I also feel very fortunate to have a few friends who would always hear me out and offer help. I have a friend I’ve met only once in person, but I talk to her every day and have been over the past few years (with some exceptions).
I’m going out of the campus soon to attend a few interviews, so that’s exciting too. Like I said, good things are starting to happen. We’ll see what happens.
This is a little reminder that if you are stuck on something or are in a difficult situation, please remember that there is light at the end of the tunnel. Things will eventually be better.
That’s all for now. I hope you have a great week. Take care, stay safe.
- Debashish Reang
